The Skamania County Sheriff's Office and Wind River Search and Rescue
would like thank you for attending the
2002 Washington State SAR Conference.
The Pre-conference courses offered by the Washington State Department of Emergency Management began on Monday May 13, and concluded Friday May 17, 2002. Further inquiries regarding the Pre- conference can be directed to Chris Long, Wa, State SAR Coordinator at c.long@emd.wa.gov
The 2002 SAR conference commenced at 12pm Friday May 17, 2002 and concluded at 4pm Sunday May 19, 2002.
We worked hard to provide a wide array of SAR training at the conference. We were ablr to provide many of the basic courses required under WAC 118.04. Additionally, advanced training was provided again at the conference in the areas of GPS, tracking, K-9 and helicopter as well as other topics. We atttempted to provide a well-rounded list of courses to satisfy the interest of all attendees.
The Martha Creek field consists of nearly 100 acres of open grass fields where trees were grown for replanting on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The open space provided ample opportunities for tent camps and self-contained RV sites.
Meals were included with the conference. Longhorn Barbecue once again catered with their great food!
